Desi Hits!, an NVA client company, recently closed its Series A funding round lead by Trident Capital and Draper Fisher Jurvetson(DFJ). Desi Hits! is a South Asian entertainment and lifestyle portal. I blogged about them recently as they launched an exciting new website earlier this year. The company is up to some very exciting things and already has a strong brand and a rapidly growing community. They are taking the Desi scene by storm, so keep an eye out.

It has been an exciting ride for the company so far, starting out as a blogger.com site that grew and grew beyond expectations. Anjula and Ranj have a phenomenal eye for Desi entertainment and found a way to bring that to life in the form of podcasts and vidcasts! I am pleased to announce that an NVA client, Desihits.com, has just launched their new website. The team has been working hard on this site for quite a while and its very cool.

What’s a desi you ask? A “Desi” is a term used to describe south-asians typically living outside of India. The founders, Anjula and Ranj Bath, (desis themselves of course) have a great eye and ear for talent and trends in the desi scene and have created an online magazine that brings together the latest in music and lifestyle for “the modern day desi”. They get their hands on pretty cool exclusive content and some of the Indian-infused hip-hop mash-ups are wicked. The company has a presence in Santa Clara, CA. and in the UK (London).

Stormlab, LLC. of Boulder, CO partnered with DesiHits on the site development.

Congrats to the entire DesiHits.com team for getting the new site launched. What a way to start 2007!
